Big Orange Chorus Finishes in TOP TWENTY in Philadelphia!

The Jacksonville Big Orange Chorus, Sunshine District (State of Florida) Plateau AAAA chorus champions, finished in19th place in Philadelphia on Friday, July 2nd, thereby gaining a foothold and signaling a strong return of the Big Orange Chorus to the international contest stage. The international audience was impressed and entertained, and chorus director Tony DeRosa was thrilled by the strength, consistency, and impact of the chorus performance. The Big Orange Chorus is looking forward to future appearances on the international contest stage. You can watch the chorus and quartet contests via pre-recorded web feed by visiting the Barbershop Harmony Society web site and signing up at http://www.barbershop.org. The Society will release the top twenty chorus and quartet performances on both DVDs and CDs in the near future.

A B O U T O U R C H O R U S

The Big Orange Chorus is a fun and friendly group of guys who enjoy singing barbershop and other styles of music. As a chapter of the international Barbershop Harmony Society, we perform frequently in the Jacksonville community. Membership in our chorus is open to men of all ages who like to sing.

Our goal is to produce quality singing in a fun and entertaining way. We offer an opportunity for men to learn and improve their vocal abilities while performing in the local community under the auspices of an international organization. We are growing and are presently looking for male singers in all voice parts.

Chorus rehearsals are held at Shepherd of the Woods Lutheran Church in Jacksonville. Most rehearsals are held on Thursday nights at 7:30pm; however certain special events and special performances require that we occasionally hold rehearsals on Monday nights. Guests should always call us at (904) 355-SING or check the Chorus Calendar for specific rehearsal dates prior to planning a visit.

welcomes guests of all ages at weekly rehearsals. Dads, bring your sons!
